Penagos, thanks to its state-of-the-art machinery and advanced technology, was chosen by the Honduran company Coffee Planet Corporation for the structuring and creation of a new Coffee Processing Plant with a capacity for 45 tons of cherry coffee per hour, a project that represents an important progress for the sustainable development of coffee growing in the west of this country.
This project began to be structured in 2020 through a joint work between Penagos Hermanos, Fundidora del Norte and Coffee Planet Corporation, and began its operation in 2021 with all security and safety measures. This plant allows to maintain the physical quality of the coffee beans through environmentally friendly technologies, and has become an alternative for producers of Santa Rosa de Copán so they can market their coffee and obtain higher earnings.
“This project is a great achievement that makes us proud and that contributes to our goal to provide comprehensive solutions to increase productivity and competitiveness not only in Colombia but also in the more than 40 countries we have reached with our machinery ”, said Claudia Penagos, Corporate Relationship Manager at Penagos Hermanos.
Twelve UDC 7,500 Bourbon machines are the heart that gives life and movement to this incredible plant. This machinery separates ripe coffee beans and the semi-ripe beans or “pintones” of green beans, providing the highest efficiency of pulping for conventional coffees and the highest selectivity for differentiated/specialty coffees.
